Last weekend flew by. I went to my first-ever blogging conference, mostly with 4mothers1blog (the other blog I write for) in mind. It was a chance to spend a full day with Nathalie and Beth-Anne, so it was easy to say yes. We learned a lot about the world of blogging, highlighting that while we’re good about content (a necessary starting place), but there can be a whole lot more to blogging than that for those who are game. (And we might be!
The only downside to attending this conference is that I missed the boys’ first duathalon. I’d like to note for the record that I am never busy at 8am on Saturday, except for last Saturday’s blog conference.) Geez!
It was rainy and grey, but the race must go on. Our friend’s son ran too, and she generously passed on the photos (thank you, Meg!). Our guys came in 7th and 9th out of about 40, although Ben noted the boys could have done better with a little coaching on how to race (and that Natty could have shaved 45 seconds off his time had he started on time - ahem).
Sam participated in a bronze squash tournament the next day, observing that it was his first tournament away from his dad’s club. He won in his category (under 11). I wasn’t there, but I don’t need to feel guilty about it, because I have a distinct feeling that there will be many opportunities to watch this boy play (and his brothers after him). Case in point: his next tournament (a silver) is in a week’s time. We are relying on him not getting too far so that he can still attend a good friend’s birthday party!
The days are running by here, and I’m running along with them. Can you tell?
